Friendly staff but room needs an update
I had a pleasant stay with friendly staff who were always helpful. The room was comfortable, but it definitely needs some refurbishing. the decor was quite tired and there were cleanliness issues, especially in the bathroom. Breakfast was enjoyable, and I appreciated the accommodating service during my visit.

The Bull in Downton had friendly staff who made me feel welcome. The location was convenient, close to the town center. My room was clean and comfortable, with a fluffy bed that made for great sleep. The food truly stood out. Fresh, hearty meals with generous portions. I particularly enjoyed the homemade pizza, which was a highlight. The atmosphere felt cozy, especially with the live music on one night. my room was uncomfortably hot during my stay, likely because it was above the kitchen. This affected my rest, and some noise during the night from outside didn’t help either. The bathroom needed some attention. the fittings looked outdated, and I noticed limescale on the shower screen. Honestly, that detracted from my experience a bit.

Great rooms, but needs better service
We stayed overnight in a ground floor apartment. Really loved the style and how comfy the beds were. The staff was friendly, but the bar wasn’t too helpful when I ordered dinner. They didn’t have a wine list, and the food took forever. they could clean the outdoor areas better. there were butts everywhere!

Cozy, historic pub atmosphere featuring a quaint bar area with charming décor. Located conveniently near local attractions, making it a decent base for exploring the area.
Parking posed some trouble when returning to find the lot closed due to a local festival without prior notice. The noise from a generator beneath my room disrupted sleep, starting around 7 am, which made for a less than restful experience. Breakfast options were limited to just toast and coffee with tables that felt sticky from the previous night, leaving a lack of attention to cleanliness. while it had potential, the experience felt unrefined, and some quirks left a desire for improvement.

A Cozy Stay with Room for Improvement
Enjoyed the comfort of the Deluxe Double Room. The staff were friendly and accommodating. the noisy fan made it hard to sleep, and breakfast availability was a letdown. For future guests, ensure to communicate any special requests ahead of time.

Staying here as a solo traveler for a night, I experienced a few hiccups during my visit. Though the room was nice, I was quite disappointed that breakfast wasn't available as advertised, which added stress to my morning. The staff seemed to be absent when I was checking out in the early hours, making the departure a bit awkward. I appreciated the location and the room's comfort during my stay.
